The Story: Chapter 4 - Deliverance
Who is Yahweh? Pharaoh asks that question when Moses demands that he let Israel go, and the rest of the Exodus story answers it. In week four of The Story, Pastor Justin Sturgeon of First Christian Church walks through Israel's deliverance from slavery in Egypt. It begins at the burning bush, where God reveals his personal name, Yahweh, and moves through the ten signs, which brought judgment on the gods of Egypt and the spiritual powers behind them. At the Passover, the blood of a lamb on the doorframe was the only difference between one house and the next. Then, only days after walking through the sea, Israel began to grumble and wish for Egypt. It is easy to ask how their memory could be so short, but Pastor Justin shows how quickly we forget too. If you are worried about what is ahead, this message is for you: we trust Yahweh with what's ahead by remembering what he has already done.
