Yahweh feeds them every morning, and they cry for the fish they ate as slaves in Egypt. At the edge of the promised land, the spies bring back grapes so big it takes two men to carry them, and reports of giants. The people want to go back to Egypt. Centuries later, Jesus walks into the same wilderness and faces the same tests. Everyone ends up in the wilderness. The question is what happens there.
